Steps to getting a Mississippi Medical Marijuana Card
- Mississippi requires an in-person visit for the initial appointment to be certified for a medical marijuana card. Renewal visits can be conducted virtually through online telemedicine, to get re-certified. You must provide valid proof of residency, establishing that you are a resident in the state. Acceptable documents include; a recent utility bill, a Mississippi driver’s license, or a valid Mississippi state ID. It is important to ensure that all personal details match across the various documents submitted to prevent delays in the application process.
- If you have a qualifying diagnosis, this is a very simple process! The qualifying diagnosis are listed below.
- You will be required to provide medical documentation such as medical records, office visit summaries, or a letter from a doctor stating your diagnosis. Please be sure to provide the most recent medical documentation possible (within the last 12 months is preferred).
- You'll come in and see Dr. Speights to be certified, and register with the state as a medical patient. Once your registration has been accepted, you'll receive your electronic medical card which will allow you to immediately access dispensaries in Mississippi to purchase cannabis products.
- In Mississippi, individuals must be at least 18 years old. For minors under this age, a legal guardian or caregiver must apply on their behalf, assuming the full responsibility for the minor's medical marijuana use and managing their dosage.
